Orchid Gifts at Every Budget: A Guide to Our Orchids for Sale

Flowering orchids growing in a greenhouse among lush greenery

Orchids have a reputation as a luxury gift, and they certainly look the part. But choosing one doesn’t have to be complicated. At Formosa, every orchid is priced by the number of stems, so it’s easy to find the right gift for your budget and the occasion.

Here’s what you get at each price point, and who each option suits best.

What every Formosa orchid includes

  • Healthy Phalaenopsis orchids, grown and cared for at our family nursery in Eight Mile Plains
  • A brass and gold metal pot, so it’s ready to display or give straight away
  • A mix of open flowers and buds, so it keeps opening up once it’s home
  • Flowers that typically last up to three months

$119: the single stem

A single-stem orchid is elegant, simple and fits on any desk, bedside table or kitchen bench. It’s our most popular gift for birthdays, thank-yous, get-well wishes and teachers.

Best for: everyday gifts, colleagues, neighbours and treating yourself. Available in white, pink, white and purple and purple spotted.

$179 to $229: two to three stems

Adding stems gives you a fuller display in a larger pot. Two or three stems is the sweet spot for gifts that need to feel generous without going over the top.

Best for: Mother’s Day, anniversaries, housewarmings, sympathy and milestone birthdays.

$309 to $489: four to six stems

Our largest arrangements are true statement pieces. With four to six stems, they fill a dining table, entryway or reception counter and look spectacular in photos.

Best for: weddings, big celebrations, corporate gifts, new offices and once-in-a-lifetime thank-yous. See our guide to corporate gifts in Brisbane.

The full range of stem options from one to six is available through our custom orchid arrangement, where our team designs each display using the freshest orchids available on the day.

Any amount: the e-gift card

Not sure which colour or size they’d like? A Formosa e-gift card lets them choose for themselves. It’s a great option for group gifts too, where everyone chips in towards a bigger arrangement.

Getting the most value from your orchid

Compared with cut flowers, an orchid is excellent value. A bunch of flowers might last a week. A Phalaenopsis can flower for up to three months, then rest and flower again the following year. With good care, the same plant can keep going for years. Our Phalaenopsis orchid care guide shows you how.
